Our frameless balustrades, uses powder coated aluminium marine grade stub and face posts, and top quality standard 12mm clear toughened glass, which meets AS/NZ 2208 standard. The Balustrade glass panes come in a range of sizes starting from 950mm high x 600mm wide to 950mm high x 1200mm wide.
They are designed to be suitable for high wind zones, as per NZS 3604:2011.
This Balustrade System is for use on open timber slated or concrete decks.
Maui supplies one H clamp per glass panel to be used in-between the panels. This is required for code compliance when the fall is greater than 1 metre. For extra safety, we recommend you install an interlinking handrail. For building code compliance, balustrades must be at least 1000mm high. Maui provides an extra 20mm to allow some variation in installation. For any questions, please email sales@mauiglass.co.nz.
To ensure your Maui balustrade is kept in good working order, all fittings need to be rinsed regularly with fresh water and wiped with a clean cloth.
Where the fall exceeds 1 metre a building consent is required and the installation is considered Restricted Building Work.
